Eat like a King

A man who famously loved his food, this series imagines Elvis enjoying his favourites at Graceland in the 60s. His meals were lovingly prepared by Mary Jenkins Langston, his cook for 14 years from 1963 to 1977. Elvis' appetite didn't change much with fame, he was bought up on collard greens and corn bread and continued to eat an unpretentious menu of sandwiches, sausages patties and scrambled eggs throughout his life.

Mary would often bring a tray up to Elvis' room and he would eat as he sat in bed, these photographs set his favourite foods in areas of Graceland - from hamburgers in the music room to coconut cake in the Jungle room.
